Jonathan Dillon
Chief Executive Officer
jonathan[dot]dillon[at]heystaks[dot]com
Jonathan Dillon joined the HeyStaks team in early 2010 and has become CEO of HeyStaks. Jonathan is a former VP Corporate Development at Yahoo! where he completed 40 acquisitions and integrations, with notable ones in the web search, monetization, and social spaces - e.g. Overture, Right Media, Blue Lithium, Flickr and Delicious. Jonathan also started and ran the eBay Business Unit at Yahoo!, which grew from zero to over $100m in revenues in 18 months. More recently he has been launching numerous high potential tech start ups in Silicon Valley as an executive in residence, and is based out of San Francisco.

Barry Smyth
Chief Scientist aka The Flatpack Boffin
barry[dot]smyth[at]heystaks[dot]com
Barry is a wannabe coder but long ago (longer than he cares to admit!) he traded in his beloved LISP for a life of research proposals, government funding, and all things academic. When we can keep him away from the ski slopes we get him to do some useful work on the 'hard-sums' that drive the HeyStaks back-end. Of course Barry has done this startup thing before, co-founding ChangingWorlds (now a division of Amdocs Inc) a few years back, so he seems to know what he is doing ... or at least he tells us he does!

Maurice Coyle
Head of Product
maurice[dot]coyle[at]heystaks[dot]com
With undergrad, Ph.D. and spin-out all combined, Maurice has been on UCD campus (in different offices, thankfully) since 1997. We wanted to ask him if he's institutionalised but he was attending the funeral of a local campus rabbit. Maurice lives and breathes social media, is fanatical about connecting people with the content they care about and really shouldn't be playing rugby at his age. The challenge of bringing HeyStaks from the lab to a product suite that rocks the global market keeps him excited, energised and panicked in equal measure.

Peter Briggs
Head of Engineering
peter[dot]briggs[at]heystaks[dot]com
Pete is working hard and is too busy to write a description.
-
Derry O' Sullivan
Community Analytics Engineer aka
Number Cruncherderry[dot]osullivan[at]heystaks[dot]com
Derry left his luxury life of travelling the world (with some academic/commercial work in between) to come and join the HeyStaks team. When he is not bungee jumping/canyoning/caving or experimenting with photography, he sometimes visits the office to wow everyone with his scripting skills. He also likes to dabble in the wonderful world of scalability and his love for resource hogging processes is only surpassed by his affection for Apple.
-
Artur Martins
Software Engineer aka Geeky Dance Teacher
artur[dot]martins[at]heystaks[dot]com
Artur is one of the biggest acquisitions HeyStaks has found (he's really tall and he's foot size is US 15!!). Despite being multi-talented, (speaks four languages, travels the world for salsa and tango congresses, does photography & carpentry and he's an excellent gourmet chef - just to mention a "few"), this Portuguese guy is very proficient in PHP and Drupal, but he never says no to Symfony, Python and Bash programming, linux systems and network administration tasks. Although we think it's strange that he's a security nerd to the point of paranoia, he can also even manage a bit of Photoshop and CSS coding. Go figure!!
-
Antonella Sassu
User Experience Designer aka The Mind Reader
antonella[dot]sassu[at]heystaks[dot]com
Antonella is a 100% Sardinian girl and as any other island-person in the world she's very proud of it. She has lots of interests, sometimes too many. Basically she likes cooking for friends, eating new recipes, reading sci.fi. novels, cyberpunk manga and also philosophy of mind and cognitive science books. She also likes everything related to the urban environment and street art. In the spare time she draws and sketches stupid things. She's working hard to make HeyStaks the most exciting social search service in the Universe. She works near the wall, where she attaches every idea that pops up in her mind!
-
Ronan McCormack
Graphic Designer and Web Developer
ronan[dot]mccormack[at]heystaks[dot]com
Ronan is HeyStaks' graphic designer and web developer. Working with Photoshop, HTML5, CSS and PHP, he's concentrated on designing beautiful interfaces for HeyStaks' apps and improving the look and feel of the website. When he's not working hard, he likes to watch foreign film and triss to fit in a few hours of sea fishing (when the weather is not too bad).
-
David Murphy
iOS Developer
david[dot]murphy[at]heystaks[dot]com
David is working hard and cannot find time to write something about himself. Have you checked the iPhone app that David developed?
-
Paul Walsh
Android Developer
paul[dot]walsh[at]heystaks[dot]com
When Paul isn't watching movies, skateboarding, playing guitar or juggling he is usually found developing the greatest Android apps the world has ever seen.
-
Christopher Harrington
Android Developer
christopher[dot]harrington[at]heystaks[dot]com
Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime Chris Harrington stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished... He woke to find himself trapped in the past facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al an observer from his own time who appears in the form of a hologram that only Chris can see and hear. And so Chris finds himself at HeyStaks developing Android apps and putting right what once went wrong.
-
Zachary Davison
iOS Developer
zachary[dot]davison[at]heystaks[dot]com
Zachary is an iOS developer and minimal design nut, but when he's not authoring code he's going nuts about music. The genre of the day being drum and bass, but this is a loose dedication and his taste isn't really rooted down. Free time is spent listening to/producing music, or fiddling with some music tech.
